Towards the Restoration of Humanity: An Invitation to Leadership to Weave Wisdom and Technology to Co-create the Next Era

An invitation to the true "power of listening" that transcends the barriers of numbers

COP30 is currently being held in Brazil. What are world leaders focusing on at this international stage? I wonder if we, not just leaders, are able to go beyond simply exchanging information on efficient figures and policies, and listen with an open heart to the stories of each individual's "personal narrative" behind data, and to the context of "how and why" things have come to be.

It's about going beyond our own self-interest and conventional norms, understanding genuine "connections," and working together to create something. Despite the creation of numerous excellent guidelines (SDGs, IDGs, etc.), the world is still far from being a place where everyone lives in a state of bliss. I believe this is precisely the time for us to recover our lost "humanity" and combine the technology and wisdom in our hands.

We are born as human beings, and we are here to live as human beings.

The profound wisdom for this purpose is actually abundantly present in Japanese culture.

The theme is co-creating the future, with wooden blocks and microchips stacked on top of each other, creating a ripple of technology. The background is a sunrise. English text is at the top.

A leadership tipping point: connecting with purpose

I am originally an engineer, and I have always had a strong interest in science and technology. Technological development continues to accelerate, but I wonder if our sense of ethics and clarity of purpose are keeping up with the speed of this evolution. I believe that it is especially important for professionals (especially engineers and doctors, in my view) whose technological outcomes directly affect people's lives to have a philosophy and the ability to see things from a broader perspective.

The question we are asking together now is,

"How to Live"

"Why are we here?"

This is a fundamental question. The evolution of technology and time-tested wisdom honed over time. I feel deeply that asking what purpose these two things serve and how they could be utilised is at the core of our essential role in reclaiming our humanity and moving on to the next era.

Discovering calling and unlocking potential

In the workshops we provide, we prioritise creating opportunities for "modern" people—who are often driven by visualisation and speed, and who tend toward purely rational judgment—to connect with their emotions and intuition. This process naturally reveals:

"Why am I here now ?"

"My reason for being here, and my inherent calling."

We are all born with unique possibility , and living out that possibility is the natural guiding principle for every one of us.

Embodied wisdom: becoming flesh and blood through experience

To transform knowledge into true Wisdom (智恵), we offer simulations—opportunities for virtual real-world experience. For information known intellectually to truly become internalized, this personal experience is vital. Through this process, information transforms into our very blood and flesh, which is Wisdom, fostering empathetic, balanced, and more fundamental decision-making.

Learn from the past (Onko-Chishin 温故知新): Combining wisdom and technology in Practice

With this wisdom as our foundation, we can shift the paradigm of technological development to "Ethical Design" and turn our eyes to the wider world.

Practicing self-reflection and regaining perspective

Practices such as silence and sensory awareness offers a pause from information overload, fostering time for reflection. This enables us to view the contribution and potential negative impact of technology from a bird's-eye perspective, allowing for long-term decision-making that accounts for the survival rights of future generations.

Offering Japanese wisdom to the world

Through my many years of living abroad, I have a strong sense of the valuable, rich wisdom that the Kokoro (spirit/heart) of Japan holds which is worth sharing with the world. This is not an imposition, but rather an invitation to co-create by sharing Japanese culture to the world in English as one way of revitalising humanity. For example,

  • The philosophy of "Taru wo Shiru" (happiness based on "knowing enough") : In a society exhausted by endless economic growth, the spirit of "Taru wo Shiru" (knowing enough) proposes a way of life that does not seek excessive competition but is grateful for peaceful qualitative abundance, redefining our well-being.

  • The ethic of "Mottainai" (sense of wates): Japan's reverence for nature and its sense of living as part of its cycle has given rise to the cultural value of " mottainai ," which respects the value of things and life. This wisdom, beyond mere technical solutions, acts as a powerful influence on people's hearts in creating a circular society.

A call for co-creators of the next era

The fusion of wisdom (philosophy, Japanese Kokoro) that has been cultivated over time and rapidly evolving technology, driven by the spirit of Onko-chishin (learning from the past to create the new), is the key to opening the door to the next world.

Currently, I am personally focusing on the following two areas, and I am intentionally fusing these elements as the essence of creating spaces .

  1. To regain humanity, and through Onko-Chishin, consciously fuse technology and wisdom to imagine the next Possible World.

  2. One way to revive humanity is to share Japanese culture to the world in English.

Leaders, why not join us on a journey to embrace your possibility and calling by gaining wisdom through power of self-experience and simulation?

This spirit of fusion and co-creation, I believe, is the very force that will enable us to truly understand the human story that transcends numbers, and will give us the power to work together to create the world we all want to live in.

Every world is up to our mindset and actions.

Possible World.
