How Is a World "Up to Us" Born? - Event Report: Beyond 2030 in Tokyo, Kamata

On September 14, we held a Possible World session using physical cards from 2030 SDGs Game in Kamata, Tokyo.
There's a bit of a story behind this one.
A participant in the Possible World session held on August 24 shared this passionate thought:
"There's someone in Kamata I really want to share this experience with."
This round of sessions was designed and delivered across Japan to coincide with a temporary return home by Darwin, Australia–based P-Lab member Aya (Aya Matsuyama). The Kamata session was an unexpected addition among them. There wasn't much time between deciding to hold it and announcing it, but nine people gathered to co-create one possible world and experience its possibilities.

2. The Possible World Nine People Built in Kamata
Infinite possibility emerges from finite conditions. It's the same as how a piano's 88 finite keys give rise to infinite music. In the Possible World simulation, the cards, rules, and game explanation are always the same. And yet what always determines the kind and scale of the possibilities that emerge is the people creating that space, how they relate to one another, and ultimately their way of seeing things — their mindset.
At the end of the first round, all kinds of reflections were exchanged. And what happened during the "world conference," when the space was handed over entirely to the participants, was genuinely fascinating.
Let's move the tables aside and all gather together.
Let's group up by type of goal.
Voices like these rose up, and the second round began.
Normally, the people whose goal was "Enjoying Leisure" tend to hit their numerical targets relatively early. Gathered at one table, they checked each other's accumulated time cards, yielded them to one another, and everyone reached their goal in no time.
This set off the next ripple.
"We've all reached our goals, so feel free to use any of our cards except the time ones!"
What stood out in this session was that no one raised their voice to address the whole room. Instead, small-scale communication arose naturally here and there, and those voices resonated pleasantly throughout the space.
3. Participants' Voices
I experienced firsthand how, once you find a reason or purpose to care about others, both your actions and your thinking change.
Things that can't be changed or achieved by one person's effort or will alone — I felt that by cooperating with others and sharing intentions, possibilities expand, the heart grows richer, and you can feel a sense of purpose in life.
It was fun to hear results, ideas, and opinions I hadn't expected by doing this together with everyone, and to feel a real sense of unity as a group.
Even after the game ended, candid reflection seemed to continue, and two or three days later this comment came in from a participant:
Balancing the world is important, of course, but within that, what do I choose, and in what form do I want to contribute? It was only after some time had passed since the game ended that thoughts like this came to me.
4. Exploring Possibility in a World With No Right Answer
The moment the host handed the space over to the participants, something seemed to quietly switch on inside them.
"This world is up to us."
Building on that realisation —
what to do,
how to do it,
and why to do it.
Everyone who arrived at this realisation has, from today, joined the ranks of the "Possibees" who have experienced the world of Possible World.
What stood out was everyone quietly and earnestly putting pen to paper during the reflection session.
